Origins: Ginzing range review

Origins: Ginzing range review

From what I know the Origins Refreshing Ginzing eye cream has been around for a while but the Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser is a newer release. I recently ran out of my moisturiser and decided to branch out with my moisturisers as for years U have have been using one or another no.7 moisturiser and you can't start a blog without trying some new products occasionally can you eh? haha.

I tend to need a fairly heavy moisturiser as I am prone to fairly dry skin with even dryer patches. Now we've covered the back ground on to the products...

Origins Refreshing Ginzing eye cream

The eye cream is a slightly tinted fresh scented cream as opposed to gel with a very light texture you can definitely feel it wakening your eyes up. But when I first started using this I really did not get on with it, it caused my conceler to look cakey and almost crumble off. What i learnt with this product is that less is definitely more and when applied properly makes a gorgeous base fore conceler. I will definitely be re purchasing this unless some miracle cream is released by the time this runs out which wont be for a while.

The face cream is almost the opposite type of scent  and texture wise to the eye cream which surprised me as they were part of the same range. The face cream is a very light gel like texture with a very strong orange scent which I am not the biggest fan of but it is perfectly pleasant when it makes you skin feel like it does. It seems like you cant over do this it just carries on sinking beautifully into the skin. The biggest realisation of how good it was to me was clearing off my make up in the evening after having used it that day and my skin was glowing, the best id ever seen it look in that situation so I promptly used it that evening and woke up with amazing equally glowing skin. Lets just say I can notice a large difference on days/ nights that I have not used this.

What are your favourite moisturisers and eye creams?

Diptyque: Figuier Scented Candle review

Diptyque: Figuier Scented Candle review

Now i've never really been one to understand the hype surrounding scented candles and especially £40?! for something that your just going to set on fire.

But having said that, I have newly moved my room around and added a few new touches of furnature etc  including new storage for my makeup. So while I was splurging on my room I decided to see what all the hype was about scented candles and whether they really were worth the money.

I went for Diptyque: Figuier Scented Candle as it had good reviews and smelt very pleasant in the shop. My initial response when I brought it home was that I really was not a fan of the smell and oh my gosh did I really just spend that much on a candle? When I opened it the smell was over powering and frankly not my cup cup of tea. I however wanted to get my moneys worth so I had it sat on my desk for a few days while I made the final few tweaks to my room.

When I use it I strictly followed the tips on how to get the most even burn time from it eg. trimming and straightening the wick before each use as I intend to reuse the jar once im done with the candle (it really is too pretty to bin/ recycle) however when glancing back to the directions just now I noticed  it states to burn for 2 hours the first time you burn it which I did not do as I had to leave fairly swiftly after lighting it so could not leave it unattended (mentally makes a note to burn for two hours tomorrow!)

I am now sold on the fresh Figgie fragrance as I have had compliments every time people come into my room I think it is the candle combined with my fresh lilies that are brightening up my desk (thanks mum!) Next time I may have to try the Jo Malone Wild Fig and Cassis Candle as it seems fairly similarly scented and a fraction of the price at £39... haha just kidding. I also may be forced to try out the room spray of the Figuier scent for days when I wont be around long enough to warrant lighting the candle.

What is your favourite scented candle/ one that you would recommend to others?

First Impressions: Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

First Impressions: Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I used this mask for the first time yesterday evening when I decided to have a mini pamper session.
As said by many bloggers it really does feel like applying marmalade or some type of similar fruit conserve, but having said that the smell is not unpleasant in any way and immediately reminded me of the smell of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask somewhat mainly due to the super sweet rich fruity scent.

As a slight face mask newby only really having used horrendously staining sachets of highly unpleasantly scented masks when I was much younger and just discovering my passion for all things beauty related I decided to splash out on one of many skin care items on my never ending to buy list. I picked this up from my local SPACE NK and you get 50ml for £30.

Although I am not the most knowledgable on the properties of different ingredients in skin care I am pleased to say that it does not contain parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance and the list continues.

I began by cleansing my face using the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm (review to follow in the future) and then applied the mask generously as stated on the packaging, I used my fingers as it was quite thick and hard to work with at first but felt lovely once on the skin. It advices to leave for 10 minutes but as I sometimes suffer from sensitive skin I decided to leave it for just 7-8 minutes to be on the safe side. After the time was up I used the enclosed cloth and rinsed with warm water. The instructions say that a slight tingling may be experienced which I didn't find too distressing however after i rinsed off the mask my face was left slightly rosier than usual and feeling slightly sore. I finally finished this off with a light covering of Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask in an attempt to sooth my skin.

Overall I totally agree so far with the other reviews that I have read concerning this mask as my complexion was clear and bright, scarring reduced and my face felt super soft. On first impressions this product gets a massive thumbs up from me!
